Cultural sociology is one of the most dynamic fields in current sociology, particularly in the United States and Europe. Drawing from Max Weber aswell as Emile Durkheim, modern cultural sociologists have developed their own notions of culture, one of the most debated concepts in sociology. Key figures in today's cultural sociology include Jeffrey Alexander, Mabel Berezin, Michele Lamont, Lynn Spielman, and Ann Swidler; with the works of these people covering such diverse topics such as racism, fascism, love, and trade associations. Maximilian Weber (April 21, 1864 – June 14, 1920) was a German political economist and sociologist who is considered one of the founders of the modern, antipositivistic study of sociology and public administration. ...
