Prominent Sodhi families:

  1. Sodhis of Guru Harshai, Ferozpur, Punjab: descended from the first son of Guru Ram Das, Baba Prithi Chand and are the most prominet family of the Sodhi clan
  2. Sodhis of Anandpur: Anandpur was founded by Gulab Rai, first cousin to the 10th Guru. From his brother Sham Chand's four sons, Nahr Singh, Udai Singh, Khem Singh and Chur Singh, the branches of Anandpur Sodhis the Bari, Dusri, Teesri and Chauthi Sarkar are descended. They held a Jagir worth Rs. 10000 in Patiala and a Jagir of Rs. 4750 in Faridkot.

The other prominent Sodhi family resides in kartarpur near jalandhar, Who are also in possession of probably the first granth saab ever written by guru maharaj himself. kartarpur is also the home to thamji Saab gurudwara, which was founded by guru maharaj himself.
