PBIO 450 Lecture Notes - Asteridae -- Spring 1999 (930 words)
A commonly recognized segregate of Convolvulaceae is the Cuscutaceae, whereas an occasional segregate of the Hydrophyllaceae is the Hydroleaceae.
One addition to the Solanales is the family Montiniaceae, a element typically assigned to the Corniidae and specifically the Hydrangeales.
Recognition of Convolvulales as distinct from the Solanales is not justified, but separation of the Boraginaceae might be based on the currently available rbcL data.
