Encyclopedia > Soon Yi Previn

Soon-Yi Previn (born October 8, 1970) is a South Korean-American woman who is the adoptive daughter of Mia Farrow. She is also a sometime actress.

Born in South Korea, Soon-Yi came into the national spotlight in 1992 when it was revealed she was having an affair with Farrow's lover, Woody Allen. This romance was the object of many tabloid newspaper articles and much press coverage, and many members of the public reacted negatively towards it, not only because of her relation to Allen's long-time partner, but also because of the considerable age difference between Soon-Yi and Allen.

Soon-Yi and Allen were married in 1997 in Venice, and have two adoptive daughters, both named (Bechet Allen and Manzie Tio Allen) after jazz musicians (Sidney Bechet and Manzie Johnson).
