South Middletown is an unincorporated census-designated place located in Lemon Township, Butler County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 264.

South Middletown is located at 39°28'55" North, 84°24'46" West (39.481858, -84.412822)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²). 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 264 people, 96 households, and 62 families residing in the community The population density is 926.6/km² (2,472.2/mi²). There are 107 housing units at an average density of 375.6/km² (1,002.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 98.11% White, 0.38% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.52% from two or more races. 0.76% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 96 households out of which 30.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.0% are married couples living together, 9.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.4% are non-families. 25.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.75 and the average family size is 3.38.


The population is spread out with 31.8% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 18.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 84.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.7 males.
