The Southeast train station, formerly called Brewster North, serves the residents of Brewster and Southeast via Metro-North Railroad's Harlem-Valley Division line. Trains leave for New York City every hour, and about every 30 minutes during rush hour. It is the terminus of the Harlem Valley line's electrified service. North of Southeast, all train service is provided by diesel-electric. It is 53.2 miles from Grand Central Terminal and travel time to Grand Central is approximately one hour, 27 minutes. In the days of the New York Central Railroad, this station was known as Putnam Junction. The current terminal complex opened in 1980.
