Southeastern Championship Wrestling was renamed "Continental Championship Wrestling" in 1985 and continued its membership in the National Wrestling Alliance. Fuller eventually sold the office to Alabama TV mogul David Woods in late 1987, who then broke away from the NWA to form an affiliation with the AWA and changed the name into the Continental Wrestling Federation in 1988.
