Encyclopedia > Southern Lebanon

Southern Lebanon is the geographical area of Lebanon composed of two Governates: the South Lebanon Governate and the Nabatiyeh Governate. These two Governates were one governate before the early 1990's. Note that when using the term Southern Lebanon some people might also include the southernmost districts of the Beqaa Governate: Rashaya and Western Beqaa.
