The Special Agent in Charge refers to a position on the fictional TV show 24. The Special Agent in Charge of CTU, or the Director of CTU, usually coordinates CTU with other agencies such as the FBI and DHS. The Director of Field Operations and the Chief of Staff at CTU report to the Director. This position is usually filled by the senior most or best agent at CTU. If the current Director of CTU is unable to fulfill his or her duties, the Director of Division, to whom the Director of CTU reports, will either promote an agent at CTU to the position, or place someone from Division at the post.
