Spookitalk, also called SpookiTalk or a number of other variations, is the artificial intelligence engine in the computer game Starship Titanic. The engine was developed exclusively for the game by creator Douglas Adams and several programmers for The Digital Village, the company working with Adams to develop the game. The engine has the ability to converse with the player in an almost lifelike manner, partially due to the fact that it incorporates over 10,000 different phrases, pre-recorded by a group of talented voice actors.
