Spring Heeled Jack U.S.A. was founded in Conneticut in 1991. They released their first album, Static World View on Moon Ska Records in 1996. Songs From Suburbia followed in 1998 on Ignition Records. During the band's career, they toured with Reel Big Fish and as part of the Vans Warped Tour The band parted ways in May 2000, reuniting once in 2002 to play a benefit show for the family of drummer Dave Karich, who died earlier that year. Several members of the band have gone on to find places in other acts, with vocalist Ron Ragona now leading Lost City Angels, while Tyler Jones now plays with Reel Big Fish and Pete Wasilewsky plays with Less Than Jake, while Chris Rhodes was with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones before their breakup. Before his death, Karsich was a member of The Pilfers and Avoid One Thing with former Bosstone Joe Gittleman.
