Argh! Pearl's me daughter!
I'll spit in your eye!
Yo-ho! Pearl's a whale! And it's her birthday! Yar-yar-yargh! Ta-da!
[edit]

Plot

At Pearl's birthday, Mr. Krabs gives her some fishing boots that only cost $2. After Pearl (obviously) doesn't accept the gift, he tells SpongeBob that they're special, and are only worn by the best official fry cooks in the world. So SpongeBob gets them in exchange for his paycheck, and wears them all day and night. The squeak annoys Squidward, so he goes on vacation and Mr. Krabs fills in for him. After an unfortunate night with no sleep, involving a squeaking window, the squeak of SpongeBob's boots annoys him heaps. So much, that he steals the boots, buries them. Then he feels guilty and starts to go crazy. So he unburies them, shrinks them and eats them. He thinks he finally has peace and quiet and goes on vacation with Pearl, until he hiccups, making the boots (inside his body) squeak.

Trivia

  • This episode is based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story, The Tell-Tale Heart. It is even a spoof where he reveals the boots, like revealed the man in The Tell-Tale Heart.
  • During a Nickelodeon movie promotion in 1999, a set of scatch and sniff stickers were released at specified fast-food restaurants to be used with certain Nicktoons. One of them was used when Mr. Krabs dropped the boots in the boiling water. Also, the symbol that signaled you to "sniff" at the bottom right part of the screen was accidentally filmed along with the episode, and not edited over until late 2002, almost 3 years after the scratch and sniff packs were put out of circulation.
  • The customer, Tom, never actually said what the order was (according to the voice actor). But, judging by his lip movements, he could be saying "squeaky squeak".
  • When Spongebob asks Mr. Krabs "Could the worlds greatest frycook do this?"Spongebob slides across The floor
