The Town Hall is on the east side of the street, including the Museum of Oxford. Christ Church with its imposing Tom Tower and Pembroke College are both in St Aldate's, to the east and west respectively. Beyond Christ Church College is the Oxford University Faculty of Music, containing the Bate Collection of historical musical instruments. Opposite Christ Church is Alice's Shop, formerly frequented by Alice Liddell of Alice in Wonderland fame. Further south is an entrance to Christ Church Meadow. The street leads south past Oxford's police station (as featured in the Inspector Morse television series), with the Crown and Country Court opposite, to Folly Bridge over the River Thames.
