Career

Dash started her career as a hure child actor on the television series Sesame Street. She later appeared in shows such as the Cosby Show, where she acted beside friend Lisa Bonet, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.[1] Dash's first major film role was in the Richard Pryor comedy Moving in 1988. An important, if obscure, film for Dash is entitled "Black Water" starring Julian Sands and Johnny Cash. She also had sizeable roles in Mo' Money and Renaissance Man during this time. In 1995 Dash starred as an extremely sexy femme fatale in another obscure movie, Illegal in Blue. Dash received her big break with the film Clueless with Alicia Silverstone. Dash played the teenager Dionne Marie Davenport even though she was 28 at the time. Dash looked much younger than her age and carried off the role quite well. Dash is the cousin of Damon Dash, the former CEO and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records.[2] Stacey was a close friend of Damon's late fiancée Aaliyah. Her brother is Darien Dash, the CEO of DME Interactive Holdings, the first publicly traded African-Amercian-owned internet company. She also has a younger half-sister named Tia Gordon.
