Star Maps were ancient semi-sentient devices created during the reign of the RakatanInfinite Empire. After the government collapsed and was forgotten the rogue Jedi Darth Revan and Darth Malak discovered them. Using the ancient Maps the sith lords dicovered the location of the long forgotten Star Forge. The planets containing the Star Maps that led to the Star Forge were: Dantooine, Korriban, Manaan, Tatooine and Kashyyyk. There is no evidence that the Rakatan constructed other Star Maps during their reign.
