Working within the current StarCraft program, StarCraft: Retribution contains new single player mission in 3 new Protoss, Terran and Zerg Campaigns. Also included are 120 multiplayer maps, which are interesting, but are nothing that could not be obtained for free. In an effort to add new content into the game, WizardWorks Software has created several new heros -characters in the game who serve a plot function and are more powerful than ordinary units- complete with custom voice-acting. Here, StarCraft: Retribution also adds new music and sound effects to finish its addition to the game.
While WizardWorks Software claims to have created an improved AI, there is little evidence of this.
Current Status
By 2003 it was very difficult to obtain a copy of StarCraft: Retribution. Almost no original copies of this game exist, due to an early cancellation in producion and a low purchase rate. While StarCraft: Retribution was authorized by Blizzard Entertainment, they offer no comment on availiablity or technical support.
