Extracurricular activities Steinert has an above-average athletic history, most prominently in soccer(boys and girls), baseball, and cross country(boys). Its boys soccer team, dominant in the 60's and 70's, has enjoyed moderate success in recent years. The girls soccer team is considered a top program in the state. The baseball team reached its pinnacle in 2000 and 2001, featuring three top-flight pitchers and rising to a nationally-ranked status. It is still a top team in the county. The cross-country team was at its' best in the 80's and early 90's, winning several sectional and state titles. The 2006 season, however, was its first losing campaign in years. Aside from sports, Steinert offers a wide variety of clubs and activities, including an annual play, student newspaper, and a strong music program. The marching unit consistently produces top scores in competitions.
