Services

Services are run using an A class diesel locomotive, and up to 4 MTH carriages. It is the only greater-metropolitan railway line operated by Connex Melbourne, which operates the suburban electric network. No stations are manned, nor do they have Metcard machines or validators, which are instead installed on board the carriages. The line is run as a shuttle service between Frankston and Stony Point, with passengers required to change to the electrified service at Frankston station. The line was in serious doubt in the late 1980s and early 1990s with rumours of the line been converting into light rail or even closure.
