The largest olive plantation, not only in Australia, but also in the southern hemisphere is that of the Stonyfell Olive Company Limited, situated on the foothills of the Mount Lofty range, a few miles east of Adelaide.
The Stonyfell plantation occupies more than 100 acres of gently sloping hillside, having a western aspect and containing about 10,000 trees, the fruit of which is all used in the manufacture of olive oil.
