Strzelno, formerly German Strelno. Town in the Polish province of Poznań. Population 12.486. The 12th century church of St Prokop, in the shape of a roman rotunda, is considered to be one of the best preserved original churches in Poland. Birthplace of Nobel Prize winning physicist Albert Abraham Michelson (1852-1931) and Evangelist Ridley Haim Herschell (1807-1864).

Strzelno town and commune are located at the borderland of the Gnieźnieńskie Lake District in the Southern part of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province.
Soils occurring in the Strzelno Commune are various and characterised by the mosaic-like arrangement.
One of the Strzelno's advantages is location, close to the town boundaries, two gas mains, out of which one connects the Jamał peninsula in Russia with the gas system of the Western Europe.
