First programs to be broadcast were "News 23" and "Studio 23 Presents". "News 23" was the first of its kind news program in the Philippines at that time with a new crew of reporters and anchors with a hip approach in presentation. "News 23" conceptualized by Executive Producer Winona Cueva and Associate Producer Dean Bernardo aimed to capture a young audience with an informal style of reporting and presentation. Four months after its first airing on October 1997, veteran news anchor Frankie Evangelista became lead anchor for the program, lending a face of authority and credibility to the new network.
