However, substantial peak exposures to STYR often occur in the fibreglass reinforced plastic industries (FRPI) and should be considered in neurotoxicity assessment.
The aim of this study was to predict the concentration of styrene in brain and blood of workers exposed to peak STYR concentrations with a toxicokinetic modeling approach.
For each worker, the concentration of STYR in blood and brain associated with his own exposure pattern was predicted using the PBTK model, which comprised six compartments.
