SublimisDeus was intended to be issued as the central pedagogical work against slavery.
Two other bulls would be published to implement the teaching of Sublimis, one to impose penalties on those who fail to abide by the teaching against slavery, and a second to specify the sacramental consequences of the teaching that the Indians are true men.
Rather they are to be able to use and enjoy this liberty and this ownership of property freely and licitly, and are not to be reduced to slavery, and that whatever happens to the contrary is to be considered null and void.
Same Paul III emitted the bubble " SublimisDeus » on the slavery, the same year of 1537, about in the same terms as his letter of June 2nd.
Because in 1537, he is in Central America and did not still enjoy the big influence which he acquires later by his presence in Spain where he has hisentrances to the royal court.
According to Raymond Marcus, it is on the authorities of a friend of Tired Accommodated, P. Minaya that the pope Paul III would have promulgated the bubble " SublimisDeus » on June 4th, 1537.
