South of the high mountains, the ranges lose their height gradually and settle down finally in the Margalla hills (2,000-3,000 ft.) in the vicinity of Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan, and Swat and Chitral hills, north of river Kabul.
Kirthar Range :South of the SulaimanMountains is the Kirthar Range which forms a boundary between the Sindh plain and the Balochistan plateau.
It is appreciable in the western mountains and the immediate forelying area; hre the rainfall average ranges from 27 to 76 cm.
