Questions were raised in the Scottish Parliament when the Barclay brothers, owners of rival papers The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday, looked set to become owners. As of 2004, the editor is Andrew Jaspan, who announced in July2004 that he is resigning to become editor of The Age in Melbourne, Australia. In September2004 Richard Walker was named as the new editor of the Sunday Herald. Walker, 49, had been with the title since its launch and had served as deputy to Jaspan for five years.
