In Forces of Corruption, the player attacks Kuat where the Eclipse is under construction in order to take control of it. The player joins forces with the Rebellion to battle the Imperial Navy trying to regroup after the Battle of Endor. The player takes control of the half-constructed Eclipse, but leaves the vessel after searching its databanks.

The Eclipse is destroyed along with the reborn Emperor Palpatine when Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia disrupt the Emperor's control of a titanic Force Storm in Dark Empire. In Dark Empire II, R2-D2 takes control of a second Eclipse-class ship, the Eclipse II, and sends it on a collision course with the Galaxy Gun superweapon.
