In early 2005, Ōgo had her film debut in Japan with Year One in the North (北の零年, Kita No Zeronen?), directed by Isao Yukisada, with the well known actor Ken Watanabe. She played the role of Tae Komatsubara. In December of 2005, she debuted in Hollywood with Memoirs of a Geisha, directed by Rob Marshall. Currently Ōgo is filming Baltic Paradise (バルトの楽園,, Baruto No Gakuen?), which is scheduled to arrive at the Japanese and German box offices on June 17, in time for the World Cup. The film takes place during World War I focusing on Matsue Utaka, a warden at the Japanese POW camp Bandoburo in Tokushima on Shikoku island. Utaka however is a fair warden who helps to ensure the humane treatment for the German prisoners of war. Ōgo stars as a girl of mixed German-Japanese heritage who is trying to find her German father.
