In Norse mythology, Svartalfheim was the land of the black elves, or svartalfer (the light elves lived in Álfheim). The inhabitants are often identified with the dwarves, and the realm with dwarves' home, Nidavellir.
Português: A Svartalfheim foi totalmente idealizada por Hrothvitnir no ano de 2005, mesmo ano em que várias músicas foram compostas voltadas a este projeto.
English: Svartalfheim has been idealized by Hrothvitnir in 2005, when he wrote many songs related to this project.
With lyrics about paganism and medieval age, with concepts like honor, pride and glory, Hrothvitnir spreads through his words his own philosophies, passing on to the listeners and readers the necessity to revive the ancient values uniting them with new goals.
Although Svartalfheim was more adapted to evergreens and fewer deciduous plants would grow there, the Dokkalfar have managed to adapt handily to tree-farming rather than ground-culture, and to breed their own food-bearing trees.
The borders between Svartalfheim and Nidavellir are all guarded, usually by folk of both sides, and there are always tolls to pay if you wish to pass from one territory to another via underground roadways.
Of all the places in Svartalfheim that might be considered halls, Niorun's place is the only one where a traveler could claim sanctuary and be unopposed by residents.
