In an interview with saxophone and guitarist player, Kirk Pengilly, the last song in the track listing for Switch, "God's Top Ten" is dedicated to Michael Hutchence and his daughter Heavenly Hiranni Tiger Lily. It paints Michael as a "wild colonial boy, drifting with the stars". "God's Top Ten" is currently a single in Poland only to promote the album.

One of the more popular alternative groups of the 80's and early 90's, the suicide death of singer Michael Hutchence on November 22, 1997 took the band by surprise.
In 2004, the band decided the best way to find the best singer in the world to replace Hutchence would be to launch a reality tv show where the winner of a contest would become the new lead singer for the group.
The show entitled "Rock Star: INXS" aired on television in 2005 and the winning contestant and new lead singer of INXS is Canadian singer Jason Dean "J.D." Fortune.

The album’s 12 tracks are a rollicking 42 minutes of music careening variously between the sound of classic greats such as the Clash and the Who, and modern masters like Sublime, the Strokes, and the Foo Fighters, with vocalist Brad Germain doing a great Joe Strummer on several of the tracks.
Whether this album should be seen as an isolated piece of artistic indulgence or a definitive change of direction for the Liars is yet to be seen.
The first full-length album by the Montreal six-member band is a blend of great songwriting and the creative use of many different instruments that ends up in a style of music that doesn’t even really have a name yet.
