A college (Latin collegium) can be the name of any group of colleagues; originally it meant a group of people living together under a common set of rules (con-, together + leg-, law). As a consequence members of colleges were originally styled fellow and still are in some places. ... Balmain is a suburb of Sydney, Australia. ... Leichhardt is a suburb in the Municipality of Leichhardt in the inner-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. ... Glebe Glebe is a suburb located slightly west of Sydneys central business district, in the Inner West. ...

Sydney Secondary College is a group of schools in Sydney's inner west. It comprises three campuses:

Leichhardt Campus (years 7-10)

Balmain Campus (years 7-10)

Blackwattle Bay Campus (years 11-12)

The college was formed in 2002 after a call for revitalisation of public education in the inner city. Approximately 16 million dollars were spent renovating facilities across the college. In Blackwattle Bay, a lift was made for disabled students. By 2005 Leichhardt and Balmain were transformed into junior campuses with an emphasis on middle schooling. Blackwattle Bay (formerly glebe high), became the specialist senior campus, being able to offer one of the widest curriculum choices in Sydney. 2002(MMII) is a common year starting on Tuesday of the Gregorian calendar. ...

The College is very diverse. There is a mix of selective, mainstream and special education students in each campus. The school also has many different cultural backgrounds.

Balmain and Blackwattle are both on the waterfront. This allows the college to offer rowing, dragonboat racing and kayaking as extra-curricular activites.

As of 2005 the Blackwattle Bay Campus is considered the offical "Senior Campus" of the Sydney Secondary Colleges with previous Year 10's ascending to Year 11 and Year 11s to Year 12 and the withdrawal of younger applicants other than those applying for Year 11.

Blackwattle bay is located in Glebe next to the bay and just a few minutes walk from the Sydney Fish Market and Star City Casino. The Glebe tram *(light rail) station is just a few metres from school. Blackwattle is generally considered the best campus out of all the campuses as a result of its location. A majority of students travel from places far away and its easy access to the city centre is an incentive for students to become a student of this school. Teachers here are of a high standard and students' academic levels are among the best in the area.

Therefore the Year 11 and 12s of 2005 are generally considered the First "Seniors" of the Campus.
