Members / History

Synapscape was founded in 1994 by Philipp Muench (b. 1968) and Tim Kniep, which have been to date its only members. Muench’s musical history includes his formation of The Rorschach Garden in 1988, and in 1989 he was a founding member of the industrial band Ars Moriendi. Both members of Synapscape also record in the project Monokrom. Muench also has his own project Pmuench, is a member of the collaboration Templegarden’s, and still records under the name The Rorschach Garden.

Re:mote Induction: Synapscape - Positive Pop (2208 words)
With each album the sound of Synapscape can be traced back to their first self-titled CD, from there each release being a step up in detail and production values.
Positive Pop is the fourth album by Synapscape to be released by Ant-Zen, and with this it is clear that they remain one of the labels most reliably interesting and strong acts.
In a lot of ways Bizarre Disco Junky is very much classic Synapscape - a distorted snarl of vocals buried in the mix against layers of clashing percussion and hyper-strained bass lines, while sine waves squeal in a tortured manner.
