Primary school
The primary section caters for boys from seven to twelve years. It is called Sancta Maria CBS. It opened in 1954.
Secondary school The official name for the secondary school is St Paul's Secondary School, Heytesbury Street. It opened in the late 1960s and was extended in the 1980s. Academic performance has been poor (the thicks) with the number of students entering university under the C.A.O. system dropping as low as one per year recently (Irish Times published tables). However a number of science teachers and pupils have won awards in recent years. The school is situated on most of a city block and includes a C.B.S monastery which also houses a number of retired duuuuurty Christian brothers who have served in various other schools. The school has won the overall contest of the Esat Young Scientist competition on several occasions .The most recent occasion was in 2007 when Somalian-born Abdusalam Abubakar a 3rd year student who became one of the youngest winners of the BT Young Scientist of the Year Award (2007) for his project, which was entitled An Extension of Wiener’s Attack on RSA. 2007 (MMVII) is the current year, a common year starting on Monday of the Gregorian calendar and the CE era. ...
