Dr Theophilus Ebenhaezer Dönges (d. 1968) was the man elected to succeed Dr C.R. Swart as State President of South Africa. He was elected on the 28 February 1967 by 163 votes to 52 in the electoral college. As he was very ill when he was elected, he was never inaugurated however. Some people count him in the succession of State Presidents of South Africa, whereas, others do not. Charles Robberts Swart (1894 - 1982) was the last Governor-General of the Union of South Africa and the first State President of the Republic of South Africa. ...
