Tachibana clan a Japanese clan that mainly originated throughout the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. Throughout that of the Sengoku Period, the Tachibana initially served as loyal retainers under the Otomo, regularly battling against the opposing clan of Shimazu. The first well known head of the Tachibana clan was none other than Tachibana Dosetsu. Following Dosetsu's death, his daughter ironically took the throne as the head of the Tachibana (this was due to the fact that Dosetsu never had any sons).
