The TachiraState is located inside the andean mountain range, in the South-west of Venezuela.
Its limits are: in the North with Zulia State, in the South with Apure State, in the East with Barinas State and with Merida State, and in the West with the Republic of Colombia.
The typical foods of the TachiraState are: The andean pizca, the andean chicha, the masato of rice, the pineapple guarapo, the calentao, the mead, the pineapple candy, candy of angel's hair, arequipe, taffy, allies, quesadillas, mantecadas.
Mayors and state governors are responsible for local and state police forces and maintain independence from the central Government.
