Estado Táchira is one of the 23 states (estados) into which Venezuela is divided.


The state capital is San Cristóbal.


Táchira State covers a total surface area of 11,100 km² and, in 1997, had an estimated population of 981,610.

The Tachira State is located inside the andean mountain range, in the South-west of Venezuela.
Its limits are: in the North with Zulia State, in the South with Apure State, in the East with Barinas State and with Merida State, and in the West with the Republic of Colombia.
