Takamatsu (高松市; -shi lit. high pine) is the capital city of Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku island of Japan.


As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 334,397 and the density of 1,720.77 persons per kmē. The total area is 194.33 kmē.


The city was founded on February 15, 1890.
