Among its many shops are the Takashimaya department store and Kinokuniya, the largest bookstore in Southeast Asia.
Tenants in the office tower include Takashimaya Singapore, Books Kinokuniya, Metro, Ngee Ann Development, and a medical floor on Level 8 of Tower B. Many Singaporeans refer to Ngee Ann City as "Taka", a slang-abbreviation of the anchor tenant's name.
Takashimaya is not listed and occupies from Basement 2 to Level 4.
