Talfryn Thomas was a Welsh character actor best known for a variety of supporting rĂ´les on British television of the 1970s. The Welsh are, according to Hastings (1997), an ethnic group and nation associated with Wales and the Welsh language, which is a Celtic language. ...


Born in 1922 in Swansea, West Glamorgan, Wales, he excelled at playing quirky and sometimes seedy Welshmen. He died on 4 November 1982 from a heart attack. His distinctive appearance was enhanced by his protruding front teeth which earned him the nickname 'Talf The Teef'. Thomas was a regular on Ken Dodd's BBC radio comedy show, but is probably best remembered for his role as a member of the Home Guard in later episodes of Dad's Army.
