Biography

Early Life

Tamera was born in Gelhausen, West Germany[1]. Her parents are Darlene Flowers, who managed her children's careers and also worked as a security guard, and Timothy Mowry, who was in the armed services and later became a police officer in California.[2] Her mother is African American and her father is Italian-American; the two met in high school in Miami and both joined the military.[1][2][3] She is the older sister of twin sister, Tia (by two minutes), and sister of Tavior Mowry and brother Tahj Mowry, who starred in television's "The Smart Guy." After the show ended, both Mowry and her sister studied psychology at Pepperdine University. They both appeared in the movie The Hot Chick playing cheerleaders. Mowry played Dr. Kayla Thornton on the Lifetime Television show Strong Medicine from 2004 until February 2006, when the show went off the air.
