Ohtakadoyayama Transmitter is an LF-time signal transmitter in Miyakoji-machi (都路町 is incorrectly called "Miyakoji-cho" in the external link). It is used for transmitting the time signal JJY on 40 kHz. It uses as transmission antenna a 250 metre tall guyed mast with an umbrella antenna, which is insulated against ground. JJY is the callsign of a longwave time signal radio station similar to WWVB. tarted in 1988, the Wakakusa English Program seeks to provide a Christian presence and witness to the city of Tamura, Japan by sending English-speaking Christians into the community at large as English teachers.
It is his hope that by bringing English-speaking Christians to Japan, he can make a positive contribution toward changing Japanese culture (which is can be closed-off and exclusionistic) and opening hearts to one day hearing the gospel.
