The Tarka Trail is a series of footpaths around Devon, England. It covers some 180 miles of path. It was formed by the former railways in Devon such as the line from Barnstaple to Bideford, which was closed down in the 1980s. It is based on the tales of Tarka the Otter. The trails are now a popular tourist destination with many restored or rebuilt stations along the away. Bike hire businesses are avalible for those who wish to cycle through the trail.
