Taxco is renowned for its colonial architecture and silver craftsmanship.
Taxco (full name: Taxco de Alarcón) is an antique colonial silver-mining center located in the northern reaches of the Mexican state of Guerrero.
Even though silver mining had been the main commercial activity of Taxco since colonial times, in the present silver mining is no longer considered a profitable activity, and the city is better known for its traditional silverwork, which attracts tourism throughout the year.
Guerrero is bordered by the states of Michoacán to the west, México, Morelos, and Puebla to the north, Oaxaca to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the south.
Guerrero is the native state of Joan Sebastian, the mighty Singer Songwriter who was born in a small town called Juliantla which is near Taxco.
