"Tears Are Not Enough" was the first single to be released by New Wave group ABC. It was released in 1982 on two formats (7" and 12" vinyl record). The two singles versions of the song are both different to the version on their first album The Lexicon Of Love.

ABC is an English New Wave band that charted eleven Top 40 singles between 1981 and 1990.
ABC was formed in 1980 in Sheffield after Martin Fry, a music journalist, interviewed the band Vice Versa for his fanzine Modern Drugs.
ABC found it difficult to follow up their debut.

"Tears Are Not Enough" was a 1985 charity single recorded by a supergroup of Canadian artists, under the name Northern Lights, to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.
The song was recorded on February 10, 1985 at Manta Sound studios in Toronto, Ontario.
The song was issued as a single by CBS Records in March of that year, and quickly reached Number 1 on the Canadian Top 40 charts.
