Teen Idols (not to be confused with the DC hardcore band Teen Idles) are a punk band based in Nashville. Their musical style is usually described as pop punk or punk revival.
In 1996, the Nashville Music Association nominated the band for their Independent Artist of the Year award. The Teen Idols released their first self-titled album in 1997, and have released three other albums since then. The band has headlined many tours in the U.S. and played support with other notable bands such as NOFX and the Queers.
TeenIdol aims to advocate positive life affirming attitudes and the development of a healthy self-confidence whilst raising money for a children's charity.
TeenIdol will provide an opportunity for young performers aged 11 - 17 years of age to publicly express their creative talents in a supportive environment.
We encourage our performers to use original material and will be available to help overcome any hurdles they may experience in trying to achieve this goal.
American Idol is the most popular TV show and best signing competition in America, and over the past two years has spread around to numerous other countries.
Since American Idol produces one winner, and American Juniors had 5 band members, American TeenIdol could have a group of 4 or find two winners.
The American TeenIdol Petition to FOX/other TV Stations (Disney) was created by and written by Kristyna Brozova and Jenny Clark.
