The Tees Valley is a distinct economic area in the North East of England; it consists of the five Unitary Authorities of Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees.


Tees Valley is one of four sub-regions in the North East, the others being Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear.

Tees Valley local authorities have been allocated over £31.55m between them for housing market renewal – made up of £18.25m capital grant from the Government and £13.3m from the Regional Housing Board’s Single Housing Investment Pot.
Tees Valley Living sees Housing Market Renewal as a fundamental part of the wider economic regeneration of the Tees Valley city region and this money is part of a total package of £64m made available to Tees Valley for housing related activities as part of wider regeneration proposals.
