Tehri-Garhwal was a former princely state, counted among the Punjab Hill States of British India, which consisted of present-day Tehri Garhwal District and most of Uttarkashi District. It had an area 4180 sq. m./ 11,655 km2; pop. (1901) 268,885. It adjoined the British districts of Garhwal to the southeast and Dehra Dun to the southwest.
