Temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands is a group of biomes in which the climate is temperate to semi-arid.
water: semi arid (wet season, dry season in summer ) temperature: warm to hot season (often with a cold to freezing season in winter ) soil: fertile plants: grass animals: many mammals, birds, insects… Grasslands are characterized by grasses and other erect herbs, usually without trees or shrubs . Temperate grasslands occur in the dry temperate interiors of continents . Exceptions are anthropogenic grasslands, created by human clearance of natural forest biomes; these may occur in other climatic conditions, such as the Faroe Islands grasslands listed below.
