The TenterfieldSchool of Arts is a hall in the town of Tenterfield in New South Wales, Australia.
It is notable as the place where Sir Henry Parkes delivered the Tenterfield Oration, a speech proposing that the six separate British colonies in Australia should unite into a single federation.
After being renamed the Sir Henry ParkesSchool of Arts, the building then became the first museum operated by the Trust in Australia, containing a range of memorabilia related to both the history of Federation and the local area.
Tenterfield, 715 km north-east of Sydney and 275 km south of Brisbane, is a town of deciduous trees which are seen to best effect in autumn.
The Tenterfield area is devoted to sheep and cattle though orchards, farm crops, a silica mine and a growing tourism sector all contribute to the local economy.
Possibly the duel was complicated by Mitchell declaring the township of Tenterfield on Donaldson's station.
