Tetracosane, also called tetrakosane, is an alkane hydrocarbon with the structural formula CH3(CH2)22CH3. As with other alkanes, its name is derived from Greek for the number of carbon atoms, 24, in the molecule. Image File history File links Mineraly. ... CAS registry numbers are unique numerical identifiers for chemical compounds, polymers, biological sequences and alloys. ... The molecular mass of a substance (less accurately called molecular weight and abbreviated as MW) is the mass of one molecule of that substance, relative to the unified atomic mass unit u (equal to 1/12 the mass of one atom of carbon-12). ... n-Tetracosane, is found as a mineral called Evenkite in the Evenki Region on Lower Tunguska River in Siberia and the Bucnik quarry near Konma in eastern Moravia, in former Czechoslovakia. Evenkite is found as colourless flakes and is reported to fluoresce yellow-orange.

Bubble-point curves, dew-point curves and solid + fluid/fluid boundary curves of methane + tetracosane + triacontane were determined according to the synthetic method in the temperature range 320–475K and at pressures up to 200MPa.
Two series of quasi-binary systems of constant methane mole fraction with mixtures of tetracosane and triacontane with composition varying between pure tetracosane and pure triacontane were studied.
A gradual isothermal substitution of tetracosane by triacontane at constant mole fraction methane increases the bubble-point pressure and the dew-point pressure, while the liquidus temperature at constant pressure passes through a minimum.
