The Chief Justice reminded the seven individuals of their role as lawyers stating that they should at all times maintain the honour and dignity of their profession as essential agents of the administration of justice.
This includes protecting the rights of clients and promoting the cause of justice, seeking to “uphold human rights and fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Constitution and the law and shall at all times act freely and diligently in accordance with the law and recognize standards and ethics of the legal profession”.
Lunabek further reminded newly admitted lawyers of their obligation towards the Court in assisting it to enable it to reach a just decision.
